Professional Maritime Logbook

SeaTime

A Google Sheets-based logbook designed to help maritime workers record shifts, track sea-time hours, review company totals, and monitor progress toward work and union milestones.

Designed by Brian Charette, IBU-SF

What SeaTime does

Log shifts

Record dates, company, shift type, location, vessel, captain, crew, hours, pay type, status, and notes.

Track hours

See cumulative hours, company totals, recent shifts, and progress toward configured milestones.

Create reports

Review dashboards, company-specific histories, searchable records, and printable hour summaries.

How Google access is used

SeaTime is installed inside a user's own Google Sheets workbook. It requests access only to spreadsheets where the application is installed, plus permissions required to create its automated triggers and display its interface inside Google Sheets.

SeaTime does not need access to Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, or unrelated Google Sheets files. Shift information remains in the user's own SeaTime spreadsheet and is not transmitted to the developer by the SeaTime script.

For SeaTime users

Each user should work from an independent copy of the SeaTime template. One user's logbook does not update or interfere with another user's copy.
